The Parish Council invites you to join them to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8th May at Goodrich Village Hall.
Victory in Europe Day is the day marking the official surrender of all German military operations. Although fighting continued due to the ongoing war with Japan, 8th May 1945 represents a moment in time when peace in Europe commenced and ultimately helped lead to the eventual end to all WWII fighting between 15th August and 2nd September of that year.
Please pre-order your Fish and Chip Supper and join us to celebrate this momentous day in our history and be present for the lighting of the Peace Lamps at 9.30pm.
