It may seem like a long time ago, given the recent catastrophic impact of Covid-19 both nationally and locally, but many residents are still dealing with the effects of the flooding that occurred in February of this year. In addition to the grants already provided, the county council is now administering the latest financial assistance package from central government, the Property Flood Resilience Recovery Support Scheme 2020, for property owners whose properties flooded internally in February 2020.
Those who qualify should have received a letter direct for Herefordshire Council but if you were flooded in February and have not received this information, please contact the Clerk so that she can provide it to you.
(added 10/7/20) Applications will also soon be invited for grants of up to £5,000 (including VAT) intended to help property owners put measures in place to make their home or business more resilient to floods and to reduce damage should they be flooded again.
The grant scheme will be managed by Herefordshire Council on behalf of Defra. Anyone who considers that they are eligible for the grant should contact Herefordshire Council.
